Grand Designs: Bringing industry experts together

In the coming weeks Light Home's Dear Design Expert blog will focus on providing you with tips to ensure your designer, architect, builder and other contractors are as green as possible.

In the meantime, we are bringing you a rundown of Grand Designs Live – the show where all the industry’s most reputable experts can be found in one place.

Grand Designs: leaders take the stage

Budding designers, DIY warriors and green-minded renovators will flock to the Grand Designs Live show that kicks off in Melbourne during September and heads to Sydney in October. The show brings together leading companies and experts in all areas of design, renovation and home building.

With more than 220 exhibitors, organisers say Grand Designs Live is the place to view the latest products and innovations on the market, as well as gather ideas, advice and some great show specials.

The show will be divided into four key zones: Building; Outdoors; Interiors; and Kitchens & Bathrooms.

Visitors will also hear from top celebrity TV experts including design guru Kevin McCloud (appearing at the Melbourne show only), architect Peter Maddison and landscape legend Jamie Durie (appearing in Sydney only) to name a few!

The celebrity experts will share their insights and knowledge live on stage. Click here to find out who else will be at each show.

Light Home has free tickets to Grand Designs Live to giveaway. To score yourself a free pass, simply email edassist@lighthome.com.au and tell us in 20 words or less why you would like to head along to this year’s show.

Heart of the show: Scyon Expert Advice Centre

The Scyon Expert Advice Centre  (located in the heart of Grand Designs Live’s building zone) will give visitors the opportunity to speak with experts in every building related field – from financing a project to designing with an accredited architect or furnishing with an interior design team.

Visitors can book time at the Grand Designs Live Scyon Expert Advice Centre to meet the experts who will provide free 30-minute consultations on all aspects of a build, renovation or development.

Show-goers are also encouraged to bring plans, sketches, photos, blueprints, budgets and anything else relating to their project to discuss with the people in the know.
